I was trained as an oil painter in my undergraduate studies.  I utilize that skill set with both acrylic paints as well as drawing media, primarily marker and pen.  Just like oil painting, I layer color and/ or value to create depth and form. Notably, my work has a consciously disconnected feel, both in manipulation of scale, distortion, and synthetic color in order to build tension, and in turn meaning. Additionally i print my work on fabric and sew accessories (pillows, scarves, totes, etc) myself.
