I am a cross-stitch artist who focuses on folk-art designs with content inspired by feminism, humor, and pop culture. All of my pieces are made from patterns that I design, and then hand-stitch with embroidery floss onto cotton fabric. They are then secured in traditional wooden hoops or standard frames. My work is colorful and playful; the goal is art that is beautiful to look at and surprising in its content. I enjoy subversively transforming what is seen as a women's work type "craft" into true art with the juxtaposition of the unassuming form and the bold content. I also sell DIY kits for those who would rather stitch the designs themselves, and I usually offer signed hardcover copies of my two published pattern books , "Feminist Cross-Stitch" and "Self-Care Cross-Stitch".
